Suitable land for this solar power station is available near the town of Moree which is found in the north-west of NSW, Australia.
In this area there is 40,000 km² of suitable land which would be enough to generate all of Eastern Australia's peak electricity requirements.
Council Attitude
Moree Plains Shire Council is developing a Green Industries Precinct and is particularly supportive of alternative energy generation proposals that would provide power for its proposed desalination plant for the town's artesian spa wastewater.

Land suitable for solar energy generation within the proposed precinct has already been identified for lease or purchase.

Moree is the location of an important substation node on a 132 kV transmission line connected to the NSW and national grids.
